Bear With Me...
Hey Y'all...:)
Please do bear with me...
I got a brandy new camera
to continue to supply
this web site with awesome
(so not hard here :) ) pics
of the High Country BUT~~
I'm having a terrible time
uploading photos and
need tech support to
get this baby to fly.
Certainly I will back in
business soon. Top Two:
The wonderful green-blue
Watauga river; shots taken
on a road trip to
Gatlinburg, Tennessee
this weekend past. Pray
that I do get this
Olympus SP-800 to fly!
Thanks!

Awesome Critters
Critters on view at a local county fair. The awesome birds are rescued and bottom; a farm raised alpaca. The fair was (very) small town 'ish' (in truly a good way; held in an old school and yard in a tiny valley in the mountains...hosted by 'locals...') and consisted of crafters and their wares, quilters, weavers, an old fashioned apple-press, wood carvers, food and horse drawn cart rides....Admission: $2.00.
:):) This is right up my (our) alley!!!

Valiant attempt
A valiant attempt it was...to capture the sunrise this A.M. As I rounded the corner (with dog #1) the sun hovered over the trees and popped a true peachy deep RED through the heavy mist screening its arrival. I mean an eye-popping red. I (...true to my readers as always to endeavor to capture this beautiful, wild and lush...High Country living) raced back inside to procure my camera. As I approached the place I shoot with more full access to the sun rising, to my dismay the effect had all but dissipated. Here is what I saw, but somehow the shot does not aptly capture the now deep peachy color remaining of a spectacular sunrise.

Subtle Color
As I walk away today the
low lighting and the subtle
colors bustling in the wind
beacon. The white plant
in particular seems
to pop and stand saying
"See me. You've wanted
a photo."
I want to wear
these soft colors,
like a ruffle in my
skirt~ layers of color
that float back;
mauve and pink,
creamy white
and lime white...
layers that float
like volumes of veils
in the wispy
mountain wind;
an ebb and flow
of this and that.

Late Blooms
Today is a beautiful day in the mountains. 'They say' it is going to be 90 down below; which does mean that it will be 80 here. These are gorgeous late summer days. Today's pics: Late blooming flowers. Top: CUTE yellow daisies are still hanging about, their long stems causing them to droop
down and look lazy and unkempt. Middle: pretty pink flowers hanging on all over the front planting area. I'm not sure just what they are- I planted them from seeds. They are hearty and require little to no care! They are beautiful when opening, much like a delicate rose only longer. Bottom: These beauties have taken over a plot by the front door. The intensity of autumn colors, well~ just 'Yum.' :)

Sunrise (Series) in the Fall
Sunrise on the
mountain; at
about 3800
feet or so, give
or take a
few feet here
and there...
We had to
get up and
to photograph
this sky.
For some reason,
the sky and
all of its intricacies
seem clearer
and it has greater
color variation
in the fall here!
The colors are
rich, saturated
and very deep.
Ahhhh. Behold.
Welcoming...
isn't it?
