In my minds eye
I will
always
see
these mountains.
What is it about
mountains,
that causes your
heart
to connect
to your head?
I (often) feel
'a bit like' Meryl
S. in the movie
"Out of Africa."
"Will these
hills know
my name?"
"When the dew
melts in the sun,
will it lift up
into heavenly
places of light
with an essence
of who I once
was?"
"Will the red
clay dirt
remember
the place
where
my foot
once rested
as I stood?

Oh I think they will remember, just as they remember those who came before. What a lovely thought.
ReplyDeleteI love when a place speaks to your very soul. Lovely, lg :)
ReplyDeleteI might be feeling 'soulful' and in need of perhaps comfort. This post apparently made my Mother cry today (as per her e-mail.) My sister, Debra Lynn (Debbie), passed away 4 years ago on this date. She was just 17 months younger than I am. She bravely battled cancer for 17 years. She worked as an R.N. almost up until she passed away. Debbie is survived by three children; my two nieces (Jackie and Jessica) and a son, Matthew.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments Lynn and Talon!
Hugs to you
:)

I was moved by your insiteful note about the mountains remembering you. I hope they remember me also. I love the connection you made between nature and mankind.
