So, I contend that there a but a few man-made thing-stuff items that are worthy of a photo. But here is one of them.
(A 1964 red-box Parker Brothers Real Estate Trading Game Equipment; "Monopoly.")
I recently bought a complete board game and have been waiting to show you this...
because they are doing away with a token.
Big box, big board.

Yes, they have officially 'voted' to do away with one of the token pieces....
:( = much sadness.
Below is the link to an article.
Click on it to find out which one,
but do tell me your...
(1) best guess...and
(2) your personal token favorite, too.
And...(3) if you could 'invent' a new token,
what would it be??

P.S.
I intend to buy as many of them...as I can.
(You've been warned.)
;-)

Yes, I know it is the thimble that they are doing away with.
ReplyDeleteThe ship is my favorite, which is just as well, my siblings didn't like it.
And what new one would I suggest? Hmmm....something that is in almost every American living room...a TV remote!
Kay G., So glad that you like the ship! Is there some reason in particular? I like the idea of the TV remote; that's a good one :)

ReplyDeleteThe thimble made the news when they decided to do away with it as a token piece. I'm always the boot, for no particular reason. I think they should make the new one a tree. :)
ReplyDeleteMy (ex)husband and I moved from a 1-bedroom apartment to a 2-bedroom apartment in the same small two-building complex in midtown Atlanta, early on in our marriage. The previous residents (students) left behind some odds and ends, including a vintage Monopoly game. I still have it.
Yay for you, Lynn! I like the boot! And you know what, the first thing that I thought of for a token piece idea was...a nice, solid, little tree. :) GMTA; great minds think alike! Lynn, (Also) I'm taking a full time temporary job editing in mid March until mid June, so my blog might suffer, a bit. Wanted to let you know...Karen :)

DeleteMy (personal) favorite...the dog. Then, the mere (disappearing) thimble, because I do sew.....:) :(
ReplyDeleteDarn double post, again! :(
ReplyDeleteI am heartbroken about the thimble. I would want to replace it with a small tractor but I have a feeling that wouldn't go over well either
ReplyDeleteYes Granny Annie, I am too. :( The tractor idea is terrific! My Dad loved toy tractors and had a huge collection! He has passed away. Karen
